Every brand has a story, and ours begins on the sandy shores of Kailua, Oʻahu—where beach volleyball, ocean breezes, and island spirit shaped everything I am today. In my early years as a competitive beach volleyball player, I started designing and selling shirts to help pay for my travels to compete in professional tournaments across the country. Those humble beginnings planted the seed for what would one day become Keoni Beachwear.
Growing up in Kailua, Hawai’i has always carried its own rhythm. Unlike the hustle of Waikīkī or the bustle of Honolulu, Kailua is intimate, authentic, and filled with the kind of Aloha that makes strangers feel like family. It’s where barefoot mornings roll into afternoons of volleyball and evenings of laughter around backyard grills. That easy island flow became the foundation for Keoni Beachwear—clothing that doesn’t just perform on the sand but carries the spirit of the islands wherever it’s worn.

Growing up surrounded by bold aloha prints, I learned the power of pattern to tell a story. Each hibiscus, wave, and palm carried the colors of the islands and the feeling of home. At the same time, competing on the sand taught me the importance of gear that moves, breathes, and lasts. Keoni Beachwear was born from the desire to merge those two needs—style that honors tradition, and fit that fuels modern performance.
